Tsunami death toll hits 29
*

The death of one more foreign Hong Kong resident in last December's tsunami has been confirmed through the victim identification process, bringing the death toll involving Hong Kong people to 29.

Meanwhile, 11 Hong Kong residents in Thailand are still missing. The Government will continue to follow up outstanding cases and provide practical assistance to Hong Kong residents and their families where necessary.

Police have contacted relatives of missing Hong Kong residents to collect DNA samples for analysis on a voluntary basis. Analysed DNA information and fingerprint records have been sent to the Thai authorities for identification.

Hong Kong residents may call the Immigration Department's hotline 2829 3010 for assistance.
