The Monetary Authority warns consumers to beware of fraudulent website www.guarantee-trust.com operated by Guarantee Trust Finance & Security International.

The company claims it offers banking services here, but it is not authorised under the Banking Ordinance to conduct banking business or to take deposits in Hong Kong, nor can it establish a local representative office.

The case has been reported to Police. Anyone who has provided personal information to the site or who has conducted transactions through it should call Police on 2860 5012.
