Prohibition order sought against theatre

*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has applied for a court prohibition order over unauthorised alteration works at Mong Kok's Broadway Theatre. The hearing has been set for May 3 at Kowloon City Magistracy.

The theatre, though holding a Places of Public Entertainment Licence, was found to have conducted unauthorised alterations to its premises and built two additional mini-cinemas.

The two cinemas were found to be in operation during the department's inspection on March 31. Despite the department's prosecution and warning, the theatre continues to operate the two cinemas.
