8 jailed for triad activity
*
Hong Kong Police

Eight men, aged 19 to 42, have been jailed for up to 68 months by the District Court for triad-related offences.

They are among the 22 people arrested in an anti-triad operation in Mong Kok in March last year. Twelve were charged with triad-related offences, and other crimes like drug trafficking, conspiracy to operate gambling establishments and conspiracy to defraud.

Together with three other men who were each jailed eight months earlier, 11 men have been sentenced so far. The last defendant will appear in Kwun Tong Magistracy on April 19.
