Police have arrested seven people over the sale and purchase of unlawful weapons through the Internet, and seized a quantity of firearms and other weapons.

Officers raided locations in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Ngau Tau Kok, Tin Shui Wai and North Point today, after six months of investigation into an Internet website selling the weapons. Police found that orders were placed online and identified the people responsible for the sale, delivery and purchase of the weapons.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested for dealing in arms without a licence, while six men aged 18 to 39 were caught for offences including possession of arms and ammunition without a licence, and possession of prohibited and offensive weapons.

A stun gun, nine air pistols and rifles, 14 spent cartridges, six extendible batons, a hexagonal throwing dart, a pair of handcuffs, a pair of thumbcuffs, 15 knives and swords, and seven computers were seized.
