LegCo election clean, fair: ICAC chief
*
ICAC

The Independent Commission Against Corruption has received 87 complaints related to the Legislative Council election, and most of them are minor.

This was the message from commission chief Raymond Wong, who said the election process was clean and fair.

Speaking to the media today, Mr Wong said the complaints are mainly related to electoral bribery, vote planting and making false statements.

While the complaint figure is slightly higher than that of the 2000 LegCo election, Mr Wong said the situation is not serious.

The higher figure may be due to the fierce competition among candidates in this year's election, he added.
