North Point fire claims a life

Fire Services Department

Firefighters found a charred body at the scene of a No. 1 alarm fire in North Point this morning.

 

The fire broke out at in a residential unit on the 23rd floor of a building at 997 King's Road at 6.50am.

 

Four breathing apparatus teams used two jets to fight the blaze, which was put out at 7.30 am.

 

Firefighters evactuated about 110 residents to the ground floor.

 

A 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman who felt unwell were sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. The man was treated and discharged from the hospital, while the woman was in satisfactory condition.
