School bus safety campaign to launch
*
Hong Kong Police

A three-week city-wide transport safety campaign targeting drivers, teachers, parents and students will launch on August 22.

Police Road Safety Teams will organise talks and publicity events to remind school bus and nanny van drivers, as well as teachers and parents, to pay special attention to childrens road safety.

Briefings on the safety of school bus travel will be offered to students.

According to School Transport Safety Rules, school bus or nanny van drivers should take necessary precautions to ensure passenger safety.

About 200 traffic accidents involving school buses were recorded last year, constituting 1.4% of the total number of accidents, and 132 passengers were injured.
