3 charged for fraud over RTHK job orders

*
ICAC

Three people, including an RTHK officer, have been charged for alleged fraud in relation to the award of over $740,000 in job orders for RTHK projects.

RTHK Project Co-ordinator Cheung Kin-man, 26, Ho Yuen-yi, 34, and Yu Siu-kei, 34, will appear at Kowloon City Magistracy tomorrow to face 20 charges - one of conspiracy to defraud and 19 of forgery.

They are alleged to have falsely represented that the quotations submitted by four companies for prospective RTHK projects were genuinely competitive ones, obtained through a competitive process, and were prepared separately from and independently of each other.

Ho and Yu further face forgery charges, which allege they made false quotations for various RTHK jobs.

The alleged offences occurred between December 2000 and December 2002. The defendants were arrested by the ICAC in February.

They have been released on bail, pending their court appearances.
