Traffic accidents kill two, injure one within hour
*

Two traffic accidents at Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi within an hour killed a van driver and a motorcyclist, and injured a van passenger.

Shortly before midnight, a van traveling along Tsing Kwai Highway towards the airport rammed the rear of a maintenance truck near the entrance of Cheung Tsing Tunnel.

The 35-year-old driver and the 48-year-old passenger of the van were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital where the driver was certified dead.

About an hour later, a motorcycle travelling along Tsing Yi Road towards Tsing Yi lost control and rammed against the iron poles on the roadside near an oil tank. The 22-year-old driver was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead.

Police are investigating the two accidents and appeal to the public to offer information by contacting investigating officers on 2611 3243 or 2490 5581.
