Ronny Wong to head complaints council
*

Senior Counsel Ronny Wong has been named Independent Police Complaints Council Chairman with immediate effect, succeeding Robert Tang who will become a Court of First Instance judge.

 

Mr Wong's term of office will expire May 31, 2006.

 

He has rich experience in public service since 1987 and was the Bar Association Chairman in 1994-1995.

 

Mr Wong is the Chairman of the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance) and Appeal Board Panel (Town Planning).

 

The Independent Police Complaints Council is an independent civilian body responsible for monitoring and reviewing the investigation of complaints against Police.
