The Monetary Authority warns of a suspected fraudulent website at www.dbshk.net. The website uses the name of DBS Bank and offers a number of banking and investment services.
The Monetary Authority has verified with DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited that the website is neither operated by it nor its holding company DBS Group Holdings Limited.
The case has been reported to the Police for further investigation. The Monetary Authority is liaising with the relevant authorities to take appropriate action against the website, which is hosted overseas.
Members of the public who may have revealed their security details to the website should contact the DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited's customer service centre at 22908123.
Anyone who has had dealings with the website should contact any police station or the Commercial Crime Bureau at 2860 5012.
People are also reminded to verify the status of any organisation making use of the Internet to solicit deposits from the public.
They should check the status of any entity in Hong Kong which solicits deposits from the public with the Monetary Authority by calling its hotline 2878 8222.
