Round 2 of smart ID card replacement to start

Immigration Department

Phase two of the smart identity card replacement exercise will start in mid-March.

 

The Immigration Department said ID card holders born between 1958 and 1963 are eligible to apply for replacement according to this schedule:

* people born in 1962 or 1963 - March 15 to May 22;

* people born in 1960 or 1961 - May 24 to July 24; and,

* people born in 1958 or 1959 - July 26 to September 25.


The department will implement the arrangement subject to the Legislative Council's vetting.

 

The department also reminded those born in 1966 or 1967 to submit their applications by January 10.
