*

A 34-year-old man was killed in a Sha Tin traffic accident this morning.

Police received a report at about 8am that a man was  trapped between two trucks inside a construction site on Mei Tin Road.

Firemen rescued the man, but he was certified dead at scene.

Shortly before the accident occurred, the man was seen standing beside the front door of a truck which suddenly skidded forward and knocked him down.

After the impact, the truck continued to skid forward, pushing the man towards another truck parked on the right side. Trapped between the two trucks, he sustained serious injuries to his head and stomach.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.

Anyone who might have witnessed the accident is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2611 3200.
