Sha Tin crash claims three lives
*
Hong Kong Police

Three men died in a traffic accident in Sha Tin tonight.

A private car was travelling along Tai Po Road towards Kowloon at about 6.25pm when it reportedly ran out of control and swerved into the New Territories-bound lane, near Sha Tin Heights. It collided with a medium-sized truck travelling along Tai Po Road towards Sha Tin.

After the crash, the 34-year-old car driver and his two passengers, aged 39 and 40, were trapped inside. Firemen rescued them and rushed them to Prince of Wales Hospital where they were certified dead.

The New Territories South Special Investigation Team for traffic is looking into the accident. Anyone who saw it or has information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2611 3200.
