Man charged for murder in Tsim Sha Tsui case
*
Hong Kong Police

Police have charged a 46-year-old man with murder in connection with the death of his 84-year-old father whose body was found floating off Tsim Sha Tsui East.

He will appear in Eastern Magistrates' Courts on Monday.

The arrest came after a passer-by spotted the body on October 2, which was tied to a wheelchair with plastic cuffs and pieces of silk ribbon and clothing.

A post-mortem examination found no external or internal injuries.

In October 3 morning, family members told Police the deceased was missing from his elderly home in Wan Chai.

After further investigation, his eldest son was arrested in Ma Hang Estate, Stanley. Police believe he pushed his father into the harbour somewhere in the Tsim Sha Tsui area on the night of September 29.
