Driver dies in Sha Tin crash

A 33-year-old man was killed and a 31-year-old woman injured in a traffic accident in Sha Tin last night.

 

At about 11.30pm, a car travelling towards the New Territories on Sha Tin Road reportedly went out of control and rammed into a lamppost near Sha Tin Wai New Village.

 

The driver was thrown from the car and a woman was trapped inside. They were rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where the driver was certified dead at about 1.15am.

 

Anyone who might have witnessed the accident is urged to contact the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories South at 2611 3200 or 2611 3243.
