Information sought on fatal traffic accidents

*

Police today appealed to members of the public for information on three fatal traffic accidents that occurred in Kowloon.

 

At about 4.45pm on July 23, a light goods vehicle was travelling along the second lane of northbound Kweilin Street.

 

When it turned right into eastbound Fuk Wing Street, it reportedly knocked down a 74-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman who were crossing the road.

 

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was certified dead at 3.32am the next day.

 

The woman also suffered head injuries and was admitted to Caritas Medical Centre for medical treatment.

 

Anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer is urged to contact the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West at 2773 5281 or 2773 5262.

 

Motorcycle knocks down, kills 66-year-old man 

The second case took place at about 7.45pm on June 11, a motorcycle travelling along northbound Hip Wo Street towards Shun Lee Discipline Services Quarters reportedly lost control and knocked down a 66-year-old man who was crossing the road near Cheung Wo Court.

 

Sustaining serious head and chest injuries, the man was rushed to United Christian Hospital for medical treatment where he was certified dead at about 1am.

 

Public light bus knocks down two women, 1 dies

The third case occurred at about 7.50am on June 23 when a public light bus was travelling along eastbound Yuk Wah Street towards Yuk Wah Bus Terminus.

 

Upon reaching the outskirts of the Tsz Wan Shan Shopping Centre, the vehicle reportedly knocked down two women, both aged 76, who were crossing the road.

 

The women, sustaining serious head injuries, were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where one of them was certified dead at about 12.40am on June 24.

 

Investigations by Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon East, are continuing.
