Flat sales rise 28%

Land Registry

April saw 14,300 flat sale and purchase agreements received for registration, up 12.5% on March and 28.3% on a year earlier, the Land Registry says.

 

Using a 12-month moving average, the figure for April was 13,063, rising 2.1% on March and 74.2% on the same month last year. Total consideration was $63.8 billion, up 9.8% on March and 58.2% on a year earlier.

 

Of the sale and purchase pacts, 12,236 were for residential units, up 12.7% on March and 24.1% on April last year. The total consideration was $53.3 billion, up 10.2% on March and 68.7% on a year earlier.

 

There were 498,105 searches for land records, down 12.4% on March but up 2.6% on a year earlier.
