Canal Road Flyover to get a facelift
*
under Canal Road Flyover

New look: The area under the Canal Road Flyover will get a $7.4 million makeover to improve the environment and pedestrian flow.

*

The public space under the Canal Road Flyover is set to receive $7.4 million makeover to improve the environment and pedestrian flow in the area.

The facelift will be based on the 24 Solar Terms, a traditional calendar of 24 periods and climate governing agricultural arrangements in ancient China.

The works will include demolishing the existing sitting-out area, repaving the footpath and installing railings, bollards and cladding.

Graphic representations of the 24 terms will be inscribed on the aluminium cladding and illuminated with spotlights. A stainless-steel tablet will be installed outlining the solar terms.

One of the Wan Chai District Council's environmental improvement projects, the revamp will be completed by year's-end.
