December building sales down 0.7%

Land Registry

December saw 11,112 sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration, the Land Registry says. This was a drop of 0.7% on November and a 104.4% surge on December 2008.

 

The total consideration of these agreements was $42.9 billion, down 10.5% on November, but up 108.9% on December 2008.

 

Of the 11,112 sale and purchase agreements, 9,108 were for residential units, down 1.1% on November but up 93.5% on December 2008.

 

The total consideration for the sale and purchase agreements dropped 9% on November, to $34.7 billion. Compared with the same period in 2008, the figure rose 96.6%.

 

The number of land registers searches the public made was 419,529, down 5.6% on November, but up 42.6% on December 2008.
