Power Star TV licence application approved
*
Broadcasting Authority

The Broadcasting Authority has approved an application by Power Star for a non-domestic television programme service licence for subscription broadcasts principally targeting Taiwan viewers.

The licence is valid 12 years from November 28.

There are now 19 non-domestic television programme service licensees in Hong Kong providing 200 satellite television channels in the Asia Pacific region.

Last month the Commissioner for Television & Entertainment Licensing dealt with 155 broadcasting complaints, of which 14 were classified as minor breaches and 98 were unsubstantiated. The remaining 43 were outside the ambit of the Broadcasting Authority Ordinance.
