Shatin treatment works to open to public
*
Drainage Services Department

The Shatin Sewage Treatment Works open day will be held on Saturday.

Managed by the Drainage Services Department, this facility is the largest secondary sewage treatment works in Hong Kong, serving a population of 600,000 in Sha Tin and Ma On Shan.

As this year is the department's 20th anniversary, the open day will review its work and services through exhibition panels, 3D-models, video shows and tours, allowing the public to learn about drainage and sewerage development and infrastructure over the past 20 years.

Free shuttle bus services will be provided at MTR University Station Bus Terminus, Pai Tau Street (Exit B of MTR Shatin Station) and On Chun Street, opposite Ma On Shan Park, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
