Tenders invited for bypass reclamation
*
Highways Department

The Highways Department is inviting tenders for the Central-Wan Chai Bypass-North Point reclamation until noon on November 6.

The works are expected to begin in January next year and finish in September 2011. Upon completion, traffic congestion along Gloucester Road, Harcourt Road and Connaught Road Central corridor will be relieved.

The main works will include a 3.3-hectare area of reclamation between Power Street and the breakwater near Hing Fat Street at North Point, constructing a permanent seawall, a temporary open channel connecting the outfalls along the existing seawall to new outfalls, and constructing and modifying a storm water drainage system at Oil Street.

The invitation was gazetted today. Tender submissions should be placed in the tender box located in the lift lobby, lower ground floor, Central Government Offices East Wing, Central.

AECOM Asia Company Limited has been appointed to design and supervise the construction works. Interested parties can obtain forms and other particulars from the company on the 12th floor, Grand Central Plaza, Tower 2, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin.
