Tolo, Fanling Highways to be upgraded
*

The proposed second-stage works for widening the Tolo and Fanling Highways between the Island House Interchange and Fanling were gazetted today.

The works include widening the section between Tai Hang and Wo Hop Shek Interchange, widening the southbound slip road at Wo Hop Shek Interchange, and the realignment of a section of Tai Wo Service Road West from Tai Hang to Nam Wa Po and a section of Tai Wo Service Road East from Kiu Tau to Tong Hang Tung.

They also include construction of at-grade carriageways, footpaths, cycle tracks, access paths, footbridges, a pedestrian and cycle bridge and a vehicular bridge with associated walkways, and ancillary works including drainage, geotechnical and landscaping works.

Construction will start in the second half of 2010 and will be completed by 2014.

Anyone wishing to object should write to the Secretary for Transport & Housing, 16/F Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, by September 1.
