Route 3 tolls to rise
*

The franchisee of the Route 3 (Country Park Section) today announced it will raise statutory and concessionary tolls on December 28 by $2 to $30 for cars and taxis.

The Transport & Housing Bureau said it has urged the franchisee to have due regard to public affordability and acceptability in devising its tolling strategy.

Under the toll adjustment mechanism the franchisee is entitled to effect a statutory toll increase as its net revenue has fallen short of the estimated level specified in the ordinance, and it also has the discretion to decide on the level of concessions offered.
