Transport complaints, suggestions rise 20%

The Transport Complaints Unit received 5,066 grievances and suggestions in the second quarter, up 19.7% on the previous quarter, and 2.5% on a year earlier.

 

They were mostly related to public transport services (77%), enforcement matters (15%) and traffic conditions (5%).

 

Public transport services cases rose 17.7% on last quarter to 3,924, while traffic condition cases rose from 232 to 256. Road maintenance cases grew from 67 to 69 and cases involving illegal parking and other enforcement matters rose from 546 to 733.

 

During the period investigations into 4,978 cases were completed, with 73% found to be substantiated. Seventy-one suggestions were taken aboard by government departments and organisations.
