The Government plans to provide a protective layer for the outlet of a proposed drainage tunnel outfall at Yau Kom Tau, Tsuen Wan, and carry out excavation works in Hang Hau Tsuen, Lau Fau Shan, for a drainage channel's construction.
The Yau Kom Tau work involves dredging the existing foreshore and sea-bed and laying precast concrete units and/or armour rock. This will protect the foreshore and seabed from erosion and scouring by stormwater discharged through the drainage tunnel.
The work, which will affect an area of about 3,600 square metres of foreshore and seabed, is scheduled to begin in June 2009 for completion by September 2011.
The Hang Hau Tsuen work will alleviate the flooding problems in the area. Affecting about 190 square metres, the work is scheduled to start at the end of 2009 for completion by the end of 2012.
The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today.
Anyone who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, by November 19.
