Draft Kwun Tong zoning plan approved
*

The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Kwun Tong South outline zoning plan.

All the industrial sites totalling 46.82 hectares in the Kwun Tong Business Area are rezoned "Business" to develop a business district comprising a mixture of commercial, office and non-polluting industries.

Seven sites of 1.21 hectares in the business area are zoned "Commercial" to provide commercial facilities for the workers.

The two sites, in Kwun Tong town centre under Urban Renewal Authority development schemes, are rezoned for comprehensive development for residential, government or commercial users with open space and community facilities.

About 136.1 hectares and 14.46 hectares are zoned "Residential", while 45.43 hectares are zoned "Government, Institution or Community".

About 42.19 hectares are zoned "Open Space" for recreational uses. About 28.88 hectares are zoned "Green Belt" and about 67.25 hectares are reserved for roads and a nullah.
