Rita Lau promotes regional co-operation
*

Enhanced collaboration in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region will boost the area's overall competitiveness and bring mutual benefits, Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Rita Lau says.

At the 10th Pan-PRD Regional Co-operation Directors of Information Industry Joint Conference & Information Technology Technical Forum in Hong Kong today, Mrs Lau said co-operation contributes to the region's overall development.

Efforts to promote regional co-operation include agreements in IT industry, informatisation and radio spectrum management, and formulation of collaboration initiatives on topics of common interest, she said.

The joint conference is a platform formed in 2004 to promote exchanges and foster co-operation among Pan-PRD regions, including Hong Kong and Macau, on matters relating to information and communication technology development.
