Highways Department

The Highways Department has invited tenders for the construction and improvement of Tuen Mun Road's eastern section.

The works include reconstruction and re-alignment of Tuen Mun Road between Tsuen Wan and Tsing Lung Tau to current expressway standard, installation of noise barriers, and associated slope, drainage, landscaping, water and utility works.

The works are expected to begin in June and will take about 57 months to complete.

The department's major works project management office has appointed Maunsell Consultants Asia Limited to supervise the work.

The department has also invited tenders for retrofitting of noise barriers at Kwun Tong Bypass.

This includes the retrofitting of approximately 950-metre long noise barriers at Kwun Tong Bypass, associated roads and drainage, geotechnical, street lighting and landscaping works, and an implementation of an environmental monitoring and audit programme.

The works are expected to begin in June and will take about three years to complete.

Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Limited will supervise the project.
