Lowered development parameters backed

*

The Land & Building Advisory Committee has welcomed the Government's plan to review development parameters to lower the development bulk in the 2008-09 Application List.

At its meeting today the committee said the measures will address the community's rising concern over development density and promote a quality living environment in Hong Kong.

Almost all members welcomed the Government's introduction on a pilot basis of 10 hotel-only sites in the list.

The reserve prices of the sites will be assessed on the basis of the development for hotel purposes as specified in the conditions of sale.

Members also noted the Lands Department will implement a pilot scheme to expedite the processing of lease modifications and land exchange applications from April 1.
