Pier handover unaffected by court proceedings
*

The granting of leave for a judicial review will not affect plans to handover the Queen's Pier site to Central Reclamation Phase III contractors, the Development Bureau says.

The Court of First Instance today granted leave for the judicial review applied for by members of Local Action. The hearing is scheduled for August 7. No interim injunction has been granted.

The Government must handover the site to the contractor as soon as possible. Works will only start some time after the handover as inspections and temporary support are required first.

The handover for the erection of hoarding will not conflict with the granting of leave, the bureau said, urging protestors to leave the site.
