Mandatory building inspection backed
*

The Land & Building Advisory Committee has backed the Government's plan to put in place the proposed mandatory building inspection and window inspection schemes through legislation.

At the committee's meeting today, members were briefed on the results of the public consultation on mandatory building inspection.

Members agreed that the two proposed schemes are practicable and effective long-term solutions to address the problem of building neglect.

Based on the feedback received, the Government will further develop and refine the implementation details for the mandatory schemes and work on the preparation of the relevant legislation.
