A new ferry service between the Hong Kong International Airport and Jiuzhou in Zhuhai has been launched, enhancing connectivity between the airport and the Pearl River Delta.
Two roundtrip sailings carrying up to 1,300 passengers will depart Jiuzhou at 9.30am and 3.30pm and leave the airport at 11.15am and 5pm everyday. The frequency of the 50-minute service will grow to three roundtrip sailings each day by August and four each day by January 2008.
Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hui said the additional service strengthens the airport's role as a multi-modal aviation hub and the transport link between the airport and the region.
It also helps expand the airport's catchment area to the 52 million population of the Greater PRD region, he added.
