Early licence renewal urged
*
Transport Department

The Transport Department urges driving-licence holders to check their expiry dates and renew them early. Licences can be renewed up to four months before, or within three years after, their expiry.

Ten-year full driving licences issued from 1997 are due for renewal from this month. As it is an offence to drive without a valid driving licence, the department has issued reminder notices and application forms to licence holders whose licences are due to expire.

Applicants can send the completed application forms, together with the required documents and licence fee, to the department by post, or drop them in the collection boxes in the four licensing offices or selected post offices, or apply through the department's website.

Applicants who wish to use the licensing office's counter services are urged to make an advance booking here, or by calling 3763 8080. Otherwise, the applicant must queue up for service.

Click here for more details, or call 2804 2600.
