Early licence renewal urged

*
Transport Department

The Transport Department urges driving licence holders to check their expiry dates and renew them as soon as possible.

Ten-year full driving licences issued from 1997 will soon expire. About 1.3 million licences will be due for renewal in the next two years.

Licences can be renewed four months before expiry. Those who want to retain their driving qualification but who do not drive can renew their licences within three years after expiry.

Application can be made by post, drop box, in person or by agent at licensing offices or via the department's website. Applicants should put the completed form, together with a photocopy of their ID card and a cheque for the licence fee, into the drop boxes at licensing offices or post offices. For details call 1823 or click here.
