To alleviate flooding, the Lands Department will resume 175 lots of private agricultural land in southern Lantau, Fanling and Tuen Mun for drainage improvement work.

Land scheduled for resumption includes 79 lots (19,989 square metres) on Lantau, 77 lots (32,827 square metres) in Fanling and 19 lots (3,210 square metres) in Tuen Mun.

Land resumption notices have been gazetted. The Lantau project will start in mid-2007 and finish in mid-2010. The Fanling works will run from July to 2010, and the Tuen Mun project will start in September and take two years to complete.
