Updated IT strategy ready next year
*

The latest update of the Digital 21 Strategy, now under public consultation, will be published within the first half of 2007, Secretary for Commerce, Industry & Technology Joseph Wong says.

Chairing the first meeting of the second term of the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee today, Mr Wong said member suggestions and views will help the Government finalise the important document.

During the meeting, the committee was briefed on the proposed spectrum policy framework, which was launched for public consultation on October 25 for a period of three months.

The aim of the review on the radio spectrum policy is to formulate a responsive and transparent spectrum policy that enables the community to reap maximum benefits from the deployment of radio spectrum.

Members also exchanged views on a number of common issues relating to the outsourcing of Government IT projects, including contractual terms, evaluation of tenders and project governance.
