Kwu Tung North plan to preserve rural life
*

The draft Kwu Tung North Outline Zoning Plan has been approved by the Chief Executive in Council.

The Town Planning Board says the plan will promote and conserve the area's rural character by controlling urban sprawl, minimising flood risk and preserving agricultural land. It will also achieve coherent planning and control of open storage development.

Only low-density residences are allowed in the three zones, totalling about 18.2 hectares. About 131.6 hectares of agricultural land has been zoned, and 107.2 hectares has been classified as "green belt".
