15 building plans approved in September

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 15 building plans in September - three on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

 

They include five apartment and apartment-commercial developments, two commercial developments, four factory and industrial developments, and four community-services developments.

 

Consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 1,741 units with 231,973 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, and 130,181 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department has received notification of work starting on 11 building projects. It has also issued 16 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and five in the New Territories. These buildings have 2,498 units with 199,355 square metres for domestic use, and 198,218 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in the month totalled $3.9 billion.

 

The department issued 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures. It received 2,501 complaints against unauthorised building works, and issued 4,164 removal orders on unauthorised works.
