A 15,000-seat performance venue and a facility for Chinese opera should be built in the West Kowloon Cultural District, an advisory group says.
The district's Consultative Committee on the Core Arts & Cultural Facilities held its third meeting today, discussing the report submitted by its Performing Arts & Tourism Advisory Group on performance venues, and related arts, cultural and tourism facilities.
It also proposed a "Theatreland" comprising auditoriums of different sizes as a platform for different art forms, and enabling small and medium-sized performing arts groups to showcase their performances.
