26 building plans approved in June

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 26 building plans in June - 11 on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

 

These plans include17 apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two commercial developments, five factory and industrial developments, and two community-services developments.

 

In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 1,227 units with 89,034 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, and 88,864 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department has received notification of commencement of work for 12 building projects.

 

The department also issued 25 occupation permits - three on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 16 in the New Territories.

 

These buildings have 4,013 units with 278,333 square metres for domestic use, and 75,011 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

Building declared cost: $2.8b

The declared cost of the new buildings completed in June totalled about $2.8 billion.

 

The department also issued 10 demolition consents for 10 buildings. It received 1,911 complaints against unauthorised building works in May, and issued 3,042 removal orders on unauthorised works.
