New planning guidelines issued

*

The Town Planning Board has announced new guidelines requiring the public bodies engaged in property development to consult the District Council on planning briefs.

Bodies affected include the Planning and Housing Departments, the Housing Society and the Urban Renewal Authority, who will have to send their planning briefs to the relevant District Councils for consultation.

The board said the guidelines will satisfy the public's hope for a more transparent planning system with increased participation, and offer a channel to contribute their opinions in determining planning parameters for major development or redevelopment projects.

The guidelines are now available here. For more information call 2231 4810 or 2231 4835, send an email or visit the board's website.
