Forums to gauge views on land sale proposal
*

Two forums will be held on April 10 and May 16 to collect public views on a proposal to lower the compulsory sale threshold for three specified classes of lots under the Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance.

The Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau has proposed that three classes of lots should have a threshold of 80% of undivided shares when developers apply to the Lands Tribunal for a compulsory sale of the whole lots.

The three classes of lots are:

* a lot with "all units but one" acquired;

* a lot with building(s) aged 40 years or above; or

* a lot with missing/untraceable owners accounting for at least 10% of undivided shares of the lots.

The first forum will be held at 4pm on April 10 at Kwai Fong Community Hall while the second will be at 7.30pm on May 16 at Room 103, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, Wan Chai.

Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For registration and enquiries, call 2848 2718 or email lcsro@hplb.gov.hk.

The consultation exercise will run until the end of May. The consultation document can be downloaded from the bureau's website.
