Development inquiry report submitted
*

The Independent Committee of Inquiry on the Sai Wan Ho Development, headed by Court of Final Appeal Non-permanent Judge Justice Barry Mortimer, has submitted its report to the Chief Executive Donald Tsang.

The committee examined how the former Building Authority exercised its discretionary powers in a Sai Wan Ho development and whether they were used properly.

As the authority has been given leave to apply for judicial review of some of the recommendations and findings in the Director of Audit's report, the Department of Justice will examine the findings and recommendations of the committee and advise the Government on their implications.

The Government will later decide on the actions in handling the committee's report, including its publication.
