KCRC board asked to resolve discord

*
Sarah Liao meets media
Service maintained: Secretary for the Environment, Transport & Works Dr Sarah Liao says the rail service should be maintained and the staff should not be affected, despite arguments among management.
*

Chief Executive Donald Tsang has expressed concern over the dispute among the KCRC management and has asked the company's managing board to deliver suggestions in three days.

Secretary for the Environment, Transport & Works Dr Sarah Liao made the remark when meeting the media today.

She stressed the incident is a matter of public interest and should be handled rationally, while the rail service should be maintained and the staff should not be affected, despite arguments among management.

Dr Liao said the managing board always discuss management issues and there is no sign of discord among the management.

On the possible merger of the MTRC and KCRC, Dr Liao said the plan will be considered and proceed as scheduled, though there are still uncertainties.
