The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Hebe Haven Outline Zoning Plan, with 4.9 hectares of land zoned for recreational developments to promote marine-related activities.
Conserving the natural landscape and the rural character of Hebe Haven, and promoting marine-related recreation on its waterfront is the primary planning intention. The Town Planning Board said the move provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide development and redevelopment there.
Covering about 370 hectares, the area comprises the entire coastal areas of Hebe Haven and the surrounding hillslopes. About 113.7 hectares is zoned Conservation Area, 36.7 hectares Coastal Protection Area and 21.7 hectares Green Belt. About 127.5 hectares in Ma On Shan Country Park is zoned Country Park.
About 25.7 hectares is zoned Other Specified Uses. About 23.7 hectares is zoned Village Type Development, with 5.6 hectares Residential (Group C) and 0.9 hectares Residential (Group D).
Commercial cluster
About 0.3 hectares near the Pak Sha Wan Public Pier is zoned Commercial, while 2.9 hectares is zoned Government, Institution or Community and 0.3 hectares Open Space.
The approved Hebe Haven OZP No.S/SK-HH/6 plan is now available for inspection at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sai Kung & Islands District Planning Office, the Sai Kung District Office and the Sai Kung Rural Committee. Copies are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. Electronic versions can be viewed on the board's website.
