Desalination plant set for new golf course
*

The Government intends to construct desalination facilities to provide fresh water to irrigate the proposed third golf course on Kau Sai Chau, Sai Kung, the Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau says.

The construction works, which will affect about 14,700 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed, are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2006 for completion in the third quarter of 2007.

A notice describing the affected area's extent is published in the Government Gazette today.

The notice and related plan can be seen posted near the site. The plan can also be inspected at the Lands Department's Survey & Mapping Office, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road; and Sai Kung District Office, 2/F, Sai Kung Government Offices Building, 34 Chan Man Street, Sai Kung.

Anyone who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, on or before April 24.
