Berthing works set for Stonecutters Island

*

Berthing facilities for the Fire Services Department's proposed Diving Training Centre will be built at Stonecutters Island.

The Housing, Planning & Works Bureau said today a pontoon and mooring dolphin will be built later this year to provide a floating jetty at the Government Dockyard.

The works, which will affect about 2,590 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed, will be completed in early 2009.

A notice describing the extent of area affected was gazetted today. Together with a related plan, it has been posted on notice boards near the site.

The plan can also be inspected at the Lands Department's Survey & Mapping Office at the North Point Government Offices, and the Sham Shui Po District Office.

Objections can be sent to the Director of Lands at 20/F, North Point Government Offices, by March 6.
